Leather Don’ts!

Since a very long time ago, leather has been widely used to manufacture shoes, jackets, purses and such but lately, celebrities have decided that it was time wear leather on dresses and all i have to say about that is, NO, IT IS NOT TIME AND IT NEVER WILL BE!
Leather is VERY hot so be ready to sweat! once you are sweating, leather will stick to your skin so keep in mind that once you take off, it will be really hard to put back on and most importantly, it looks TERRIBLE!!
Leather has no flexibility so it will not mold to your body in a very flattering way, look:

Here, Nicole is wearing a leather dress that flattens her breasts and looks like they will exploit any second. Also, her waist suddenly has no curves and is it was any tighter she would have a very hard time breathing.
Bottom line, let leather be used on accessories, not clothing… save yourself a lot of trouble!

Size Does Matter!!!!

Some people think that “the bigger, the better” but I assure you, this does NOT apply when talking about sunglasses.
I truly believe that sunglasses should not be wider that your face and it really should not come lower than your cheek bone. for instance, here are some nice looking shades…

We can’t deny that both Kates look great in these pictures. Their sunglasses aren’t bigger that their face and they look very chic and modern. On the other hand, I wanna show you what a terrible choice of shade Nicole made

Don’t mean to be mean but Nicole looks like an alien, and that’s putting it nicely!!! I don’t have anything else to say about Nicole, you be the judge.

Colored Jeans

Being creative with our style isn’t always easy but adding a little color always helps and it wasn’t until recent that the colored jeans trend came back to save the day. You really can’t go wrong with these jeans but let me make it clear, they are NOT to be used as formal wear. Personally, I like high waist jeans but the low ones look SO much better!!! They makes your waist look smaller and its much, much sexier.

Like Fergie on the picture above, you can dress it up with a hats, scarfs, gloves, heels, flats, jackets and just about anything else or like Ashley, go for a casual look that is classic but still very youthful.

Thumbs up for COLORED JEANS!!! :)

Little Black Dress

The little black dress is supposed to make your life simpler; it’s supposed to the versatile so it can be worn everywhere and with everything but choosing the right one can be tricky!

In this picture, we have strap dress, down to the knee, fitted and extremely plain dress. Dress it up or down, accessorize it, wear it with boots or sandals. Here is the catch: whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT wear it with flat shoes (this includes flat boots or flat sandals)! You will destroy the look if you do!
Here are a few more examples of nice “little black dresses”

By the way, a BLD (black little dress) is not supposed to be worn to the beach and doesn’t always have to be completely black.

Advice for the people who DO need it, keep in mind these magical dresses can do wonders and go with everything, so try some bright shoes, any color! Make it fun, be creative!!

Handsome Woman

I believe a woman’s body to be our best attribute, therefore, why hide it??! I don’t mean you should be an exhibitionist, I just mean that woman should always wear clothes that flatter their figure.
Lately we have had an avalanche of celebrities dressed up in tuxedos, and I couldn’t love it more! As long as it’s well played… your body type doesn’t matter, there will always be a great and a terrible way to wear ANYTHING. For instance, let’s try to fix Penelope up:

She is a perfect example of how NOT to wear a suit. Let’s look at it closely and pinpoint each mistake starting from the head down. I have to say, Penelope is a well proportioned woman and she has perfect beasts which we don’t see at all on this picture because it looks like she might to even be wearing a bra. Secondly, the jacket looks like the right size but it is way too long, which does not accentuates her waist line, instead, it hides it. A jacket should not be longer than the highest part of your butt, this way it will flatter your hips, minimize your waist and you will look very feminine.
Last but definitely not least, the pants… I think this is the worst part of her outfit, I mean, REALLY???. Let me say for the record, I am all for loose pants, but these are HUGE!!… plus, a baggy shirt with baggy pants… that is a big NO, NO! So let’s just pick, do we stick to the shirt or do we stick to the pants?? Truth is, this wardrobe malfunction would be fixed for the most part by bringing the pants at least two sizes down.

Ok, so after telling you what NOT to do, I’ll show you an example of the correct way to wear a suit for a woman:

Jennifer Aniston wears a “perfect fit” suit to the premiere of one of her movies. She looks very elegant, sexy and modern. She is giving the “girls” the support necessary for the volume, her jacket is the right size and length, and most importantly, her pants are somewhat loose, but look great. Based on this picture, I would give Jennifer a big red A+. BRAVO, JENNIFER!!! :)
